Premium Teas

Many people associate drinking a cup of tea being synonymous with taking a moment out of one’s hectic schedule and winding down to rejuvenate. We’d like to think that our premium teas are a perfect escape. His Teas have the same high standards as His Coffees. Our premium teas are hand-selected based on quality, and deliver a perfectly brewed cup every time!

Our purveyor has established relationships with growers all over the world. They know the difference between a mediocre cup of tea and one that makes for a most enjoyable experience. Because of this, all of our teas are loose leaf.

Understanding the difference between a packaged tea bag and one that is loose leaf is important. Though both may come from the same plant, loose leaf teas are handpicked from the bud; rendering the leaves whole, or in large pieces. Packaged tea bags are generally made up of small, broken pieces of leaves, called fannings. When the leaves are crushed or broken up, the chemicals and natural oils which give them their distinct flavors and characteristics tend to evaporate. This produces a tea with much less body.

To get the brightest flavor and most delightful aromatics, leaves need space to swell and move around during the steeping process. This allows the leaves to release their true flavors. Confined teas give off less goodness. Loose leaf teas also have tremendous health benefits; especially Black and Green teas. Because loose leaf teas do not undergo any processing like most teas that come in bags, all the medicinal qualities in the leaves remain unaltered.

All of our teas are packaged in resealable light-resistant pouches to preserve freshness. Each pouch produces twenty to twenty-three delicious cups of tea.

The best way to enjoy a cup of His Tea is to start with water just below the boiling point. It’s recommended to use an infuser to allow the tea room to expand. We suggest 2 teaspoons of tea to 12-14 ounces of water and steeping for about 3 minutes.

We invite you try one our premium teas. Served hot or iced, each one is a delight to the taste buds, and a pleasant way to add a bit of a getaway to the most hectic day.

There are health benefits
to drinking tea!
Studies on have observed that much of tea’s health benefits are due to its strong antioxidant properties which can be attributed to the presence of substances like: catechins, polyphenols and flavonoids. All these substances have been observed to be powerful antioxidants that help minimize the damaging effects of the free radicals. Free radicals are known to be highly reactive and oxidize the cells and tissues of the body. Antioxidants help prevent such oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Therefore teas, primarily black and green varieties, prove immensely helpful in reducing the risk of certain life-threatening diseases.

It has also been proven that drinking two to five cups of tea a day can help manage the level of cholesterol in the body. This, in turn, can help reduce the risk for heart attack, strokes and cardiovascular diseases. It also reduces the stiffness of blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving cardiovascular health.

Tea increases the rate of metabolism, which is a plus for those trying to lose weight. Green tea can be especially helpful to burn extra calories. It may also be beneficial for preventing diabetes, as it can improve insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance. Green tea use has marked improvement in concentration and helps reduce risk of neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Due to its antioxidant properties, it can even provide some protection against cancer, especially gastric, skin, pancreatic, ovarian and esophageal cancer.
